This winter, The Brush East London Grand Café is bringing the festive cheer and warming glow to Great Eastern Street with its new Hot Toddy Terrace and a lineup of modern European festive dishes.
The Hot Toddy Terrace
Escape the buzz of Shoreditch and say hello to pure festive escape that is the heated hideaway terrace on Great Eastern Street. Decked out with fur blankets, heaters and twinkling lights, and a special Hot Toddy menu. Choose from the Elegant, with Martell VSOP Cognac, honey, citrus and Telmont Brut Réserve Champagne and The Spiced, with Woodford reserve bourbon, Amaro Montenegro, agave and London Essence ginger beer. Meanwhile, the Smoked, featuring Ardbeg 10-Year whisky, agave, lemon and chamomile tea; or the Ripe, a smooth blend of Calvados, vanilla, citron and Sassy Poiré cider, offer inventive twists on the classic winter sips. The perfect pairing is the new range of must-try sandwiches including the Grilled Ham & Cheese with kimchi and gherkins and Brat’dog with sauerkraut, fried onion, pickles and jalapenos – ideal for sharing, or not sharing at all, while you soak up the festive atmosphere.
Festive set menu
From 24th November, through to 21st December, groups of six or more can enjoy a three-course sharing festive set menu plus glass of prosecco for £70pp. Executive Chef Ryan Matheson brings the best of modern European flavours with a generous dose of winter comfort. Start strong with Poussin Ballotine with warm mushroom vinaigrette or Burrata with winter squash and marigold followed by crowd-pleasing mains of Roast Turkey Hen with onion stuffing, sage jus and cranberry or a Mushroom Wellington with portobello, cavolo nero and goat’s cheese. Sharing sides for the table include roasted parsnips and carrots, braised red cabbage and chestnut mash potato. Finish with Chocolate Basque Cheesecake with caramelised oranges or Christmas Pudding with rum anglaise.
Christmas Day at The Brush
Let The Brush take care of the big day in grand café style with an elegant three course set menu for £90pp. Begin with refined starters like Smoked Duck Carpaccio with fig and satsuma or Gin-Cured Salmon with
Pumpernickel, Pickled Apples and Charred Onions followed by Charred Fillet of Beef or Traditional Roast Turkey with all the trimmings and, to finish, Christmas pudding or Apple Tart Au Tin.
New Year’s Eve Celebrations
Ring in the new Year with The Brush’s celebratory a la carte menu, featuring dishes like Ham & Cheese Croquettes with salsa verde and parmesan, Roast Fillet of Beef with truffle jus, and Sticky Toffee Pudding with vanilla ice cream. All perfectly paired with signature cocktails, including the Champagne Martini made with Absolut vodka, Champagne reduction, Noilly Pratt and orange bitters.
