Introducing ATELIERSÓ jewellery
The brand launched after the design director Summer Zhao graduated from Central Saint Martins college of Arts and Design at 2016.
SÓ is the Portuguese word meaning “one and only” in English,
which indicates that what ATELIERSÓ offers is a serious of spiritual stories, which are unique and timeless.
ATELIERSÓ itself is like a notebook recording the spiritual diary that the designer perceived from life. The design team apply exclusive techniques to create
the unique natural pattern upon every Jewellery pieces, which is named as the “Breathing Pattern”.
By the “Breathing Pattern”, ATELIERSÓ deforms the invisible desire into a physical shape; converts spiritual stories into visible and bold tangible objects.
To embody the concept of “Breathing”, ATELIERSÓ chooses Pewter (a kind of alloy) as the major material for the original sample first. Pewter, a low-melting-point metal element with silver-white luster, can remain liquidized for seconds when melted at a certain degree, leaving air holes just like it is “breathing”.
The creation of ATELIERSÓ is finished in just several seconds when the liquidized alloy is reshaped for different attempts. When pewter meets other materials with temperature differences, such as sand and water, its texture, volume, thickness, and dimensionality will vary in different presentations for infinite possibilities.
