The International Spokesman for the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has said it would be “a shame” if the UK government did not benefit from Israeli intelligence on planned attacks on UK soil.
Speaking on GB News, Doron Spielman said: “I hope both for Israel’s sake and for the United Kingdom’s sake that it will not [affect security cooperation] because especially, of course, on the Israel side, we do have weaponry and components, mostly components we buy from England.
“But on the British side, as your Shadow Secretary [of State] said, close to 50% of your intelligence that comes to thwart major terror attacks is coming from Israel. And as you and I both know, MI5 has spoken openly about the fact that they’ve been preventing dozens of Iranian-linked terror attacks.
“We’re talking mass casualty attacks on your soil, and so you know England relies on this intelligence. Israel understands the enemy. We understand what is trying to happen, and we don’t want that to happen in England. It would be a shame that that would go to waste.
“But I will say on our own side, while we’re standing against the greatest enemies of the world and fighting for freedom, this is not the first time that this Labour government has already boycotted us or embargoed arms with us.
“And so we’ve already come up with other alternatives because we really have no choice but to do so.
“Of course, Israel is certainly hoping that it’s going to be maintained. Let’s put this in perspective: The prime minister and the foreign minister were very clear, and we make a very big distinction that the Labour government did not make.
“We are not out to have some type of reaction or consequences against the British people. Rather, this is in response to a Labour government who has been repeatedly targeting the state of Israel since October 7th.
“I mean, it’s so ironic when Israel is facing its most important moment after our people were slaughtered and we paid for it with blood, and we stood against the world.
“We’re fighting Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis that nobody ever heard of, that is when the Labour Party decides to make unilateral moves to reward Hamas with the Palestinian state.
“Now to reward Hamas for trying to say the Jews cannot live in our biblical homeland of Judea, and so we differentiate between the British people and this government, who clearly has it out for Israel.
“And we want to maintain strong relations with the British government. We’re concerned, frankly, we’re concerned for the people in your country because we see what’s happening.
“This is what they’re trying to do to us; what are they ignoring inside your own borders?
“The prime minister who I work for, as well as the foreign minister, the Israeli government, the heads of the entire community enterprise in Judea and Samaria, the settlement enterprise, if you will, all have come out and condemned this for one simple reason: crime needs to be condemned.
“If a Jew commits a crime, it needs to be condemned, and it needs to be stopped, and they need to be brought to law, and has been very, very clear. And same thing: if an Arab commits a crime.
“The issue here is when you take a crime issue with juvenile delinquents who are breaking the law and need to come to justice, and you magnify it, and you play it, and loop it again and again and again, and ignore the tidal wave of terrorism that that same community and the rest of Israel subjected to by terrorists, Arab Muslim jihadist terrorists that are being funded by the Palestinian Authority.
“There’s a programme in place to fund them with European tax dollars. It’s called Pay for Slay. And when you sanction Israel because of deplorable crime, and you don’t sanction actual terrorism, well, that smacks of just something much worse than bias.”
