Jack Dee will host free streaming service U (u.co.uk) and U&Dave’s brand new comedy game show Help Me Tiny Big Brain (4×40’). Each episode sees three junior geniuses (the Tiny Big Brains) paired with three different comics who try their best not to scupper the Tiny Big Brains’ chances of victory!
Comedians taking part in the first three episodes include Maisie Adam, Lucy Beaumont, Fatiha El-Ghorri, Ivo Graham, Guz Khan, Johnny Vegas, Tim Vine, Phil Wang and Sophie Willan, with Jack bringing his favourites back for the final in episode four. Help Me Tiny Big Brain is produced by Belfast-based Stellify Media.
Jack Dee says, “In Help Me Tiny Big Brain I will be asking some of the brightest young people in the country to collaborate with some top comedians in order to solve maddeningly frustrating problems. It’s fun, uplifting and has an irresistible feel-good vibe. Precisely the kind of thing I am best known for.”
Help Me Tiny Big Brain is commissioned for UKTV by Tracy-Jean, commissioning executive, and Helen Nightingale, head of factual and factual entertainment, commissioning; ordered by Gerald Casey, director of programming, unscripted, and Hilary Rosen, director of commissioning. Executive producer for Stellify Media is Tracie O’Neill. The brand new original format will be distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Television.
Tracy-Jean says, “What Stellify has proven with Help Me Tiny Big Brain is that a great idea plus impeccable timing is what it takes to secure a commission. Uniting two groups who usually work solo – junior super-brains and experienced stand ups – to solve problems under the watchful gaze of Jack Dee is truly an act of genius.”
Gerald Casey adds, “Help Me Tiny Big Brain is an idea that the channel has been looking at for a long time, and I’m delighted we are finally bringing it to the screen. Jack Dee teaming up with three Tiny Big Brains to run the rule over UK comedy’s finest promises to be unique and hilarious viewing.”
Tracie O’Neill, says, “We are delighted to be working with UKTV on this series. Pairing super smart kids with brilliant comedians under the guidance of Jack Dee was always going to lead to unpredictable chaos – and that’s exactly what makes Help Me Tiny Big Brain such a joy. It’s funny, smart and surprisingly full of heart.”
