Jess Glynne announced as Harlequins combine rugby and big-time entertainment for epic event this April

Harlequins are set to bring the heat on Saturday 27 April as Big Summer Kick-Off returns to Twickenham Stadium with pulsating rugby and live entertainment for all the family.

With Spring turning to Summer and the Gallagher Premiership moving to its penultimate league fixture, fans are encouraged to bring the sunscreen as temperatures rise both on and off the pitch.

The match promises to be a sizzling display as Twickenham-based Harlequins take on rivals Northampton Saints as part of an action-packed day to mark the start of the sunny season. The match will be hotly contested, with both teams boasting international stars and renowned for their skilful, attacking styles of play.

GRAMMY award winning artist Jess Glynne has been announced as the headline music entertainment act this year. With over ten billion streams to her name, the world-renowned singer-songwriter will take centre stage and follow in the footsteps of global DJs Pete Tong, Faithless and Joel Corry as well as artists like Kaiser Chiefs and Craig David who have recently played at Harlequins events.

“Headlining Big Summer Kick-Off at Twickenham Stadium is going to be big. My new album comes out the day before so I’m looking forward to celebrating that with everyone and perform some of my favourite songs. Let’s go!” Jess Glynne said.

Fans can also look forward to more world-class entertainment with live band Massaoke returning to Twickenham to lead the raucous crowd through their favourite singalong hits post-match in the West Fan Village.

Big Summer Kick-Off returns following the resounding success of Big Game 15, Harlequins’ record-breaking festive fixture which combined big name musical entertainment from DJ Joel Corry with an outstanding 32-26 win against Gloucester Rugby.

Commenting on the return of the Big Summer Kick-Off and his team’s clash with Northampton Saints, Marcus Smith, Harlequins and England fly-half said: “After the amazing experience of defeating Gloucester in front of 76,000 fans at Big Game 15, to be back in front of another electric crowd will be special”

“Our Big series of games at Twickenham Stadium always bring together a great mix of fans, families and people looking for a fantastic day out and coming up against a rival like Northampton Saints the match will definitely have an extra edge, both on and off the pitch. We can’t wait to put on a great show and hopefully come away with an important win.”

Aside from the world class rugby, the West Village will once again host a dizzying array of food and drink stalls, satisfying even the most discerning foodie longing for summer BBQs and drinks in the sunshine.

There will be lots to keep the kids entertained too with free fun rides for all the family, have-a-go inflatables, Harlequins mascots, face painters and live music performances around the stadium capping off a day not to be missed
