From 5 May, premium bourbon brand, Maker’s Mark, is inviting guests to travel to the Marker’s Mark Distillery, that sits on Star Hill Farm, via an immersive experience in one of the UKs top 50 bars, Callooh Callay.

Open for one month, Maker’s Mark will transform Callooh Callay into the unique ecosystem experienced only at Star Hill Farm for an unforgettable journey to Kentucky – without the travel.

Venturing into the secret bar, guests will be transported to the beautiful surroundings of the distillery reminiscent of an enchanted forest, with a stunning limestone wall and American white oak tree. The American oak barrels which mature Maker’s Mark, imparts delicious vanilla and caramel flavours, which can be enjoyed in full through some delicious, light and refreshing cocktails that have been specially designed by the team at Callooh Callay.

A trip upstairs will reveal more about Maker’s Mark meticulous ageing process, through a re-creation of the iconic distillery, wheat barn and Rick Houses of Star Hill Farm, where Maker’s Mark is aged to taste, not time. The impressive lighting installation which rebuilds a characteristic Kentucky sunset, will set the mood for the perfect ‘golden hour’ cocktail.

The immersive 360 ambience playing with sight, palate and nose will transport guests to an early summer evening in the heart of the distillery. The specially curated cocktail menu experimenting with floral elements and new flavours, perhaps uncharacteristic of Bourbon, will excite the senses even more creating a refreshing long cocktail perfect for watching the sun go down.

Located on Rivington Street, in the heart of London’s bustling Shoreditch, the cocktail bar will also be offering two exclusive tasting experiences as part of the Star Hill Farm experience:

Maker’s Mark and Callooh Callay’s Deconstructed Private Select / Wednesday 11th May, 7pm – 8:30pm, £10: This immersive tasting experience will allow guests to explore the ‘Private Select’ (single barrel program offering the opportunity to personalise the taste and profile of Maker’s Mark cask strength and barrel). Guests will be able to sample five wood finished expressions of Maker’s Mark which will be exclusively available to this session.
Build you own Maker’s Mark punch at Callooh Callay / Wednesday 11th May, 7pm – 8:30pm, £10: This experience enables guests to understand the steps to create a unique Maker’s Mark Cocktail using a variety of fun and playful ingredients with Maker’s Mark UK Brand Ambassador, Nicole Sykes. The special cocktail will also be wax sealed and therefore able to be cherished, or drunk later with friends.

The experience has been launched by Maker’s Mark following the announcement of their recently attained B-Corp certification and major conservation project for American white oak.
