Just peachy: Greek distributor holds successful industry event in London

FRESHCANO, the European Union funded campaign to promote premium Greek tinned peaches in the UK, saw great success at its recent industry event, which aimed to raise awareness of the versatility, nutrition and value of tinned peaches as food inflation soars.

Held at The Swan at The Globe, London, the event brought together more than 60 prominent influencers in the food and lifestyle sectors as well as industry experts for an evening of peach-themed culinary delights, insightful talks, and networking.

The event served as a platform for knowledge-sharing, with an industry panel including; the head of the economic and commercial office of the Embassy of Greece in London, Mrs Vivi Kabouroglou, representative of the campaign implementing body NOVACERT LTD, Aris Beis, and consultant registered nutritionist, Shona Wilkinson, who each shared their unique perspective on the benefits of European tinned peaches in the present economic climate.

The event featured a three-course meal meticulously crafted by renowned in-house chefs, creatively incorporating the versatile Freshcano peaches in every course to celebrate the rich flavour and cultural heritage of the Greek tinned peach.

Aris Beis, senior project manager at NOVACERT, said: “While food inflation reaches a staggering 19.1% in the UK according to the Office of National Statistics, we wanted to highlight the value in tinned produce for consumers – particularly that of Greek tinned peaches, and the nutritional benefits provided by such a cost-friendly supermarket staple.

“We are really pleased with the success of the Freshcano event, and it was an honour to bring together such esteemed influencers and experts to celebrate the exquisite taste and versatility of our Greek tinned peaches. The overwhelming positive feedback we received from the attendees affirms the impact our campaign is having in the UK market.”
