Kao Data Acquires New Industrial Site in Park Royal, West London

Kao Data, the specialist developer and operator of data centres engineered for AI and advanced computing, has announced it has acquired a new site on the former Frogmore Industrial Estate in Park Royal, West London.

Acquired from Legal & General business, Reassure Limited, in March 2026, the 4.7-acre site is intended to be transformed into a new data centre and, in-line with Kao Data’s longstanding reputation for sustainability, will be designed, built and operated to the highest possible environmental and energy efficiency standards.

Plans for the 107,000 sqft, ex-industrial site, which is located within one of the UK and Europe’s most sought after cloud computing regions, are currently being developed in consultation with the Old Oak Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC), local authorities, and the community surrounding the site.

It is anticipated the new data centre in Park Royal will add to Kao Data’s reputation for hosting some of the UK’s most critical computing systems, supporting life science and healthcare research, artificial intelligence (AI) workloads and financial services platforms – all of which the UK’s general public use on a daily basis.

As a responsible data centre developer and UK-headquartered business, Kao Data leads the industry on its community engagement programmes, and has a strong and demonstrable track record at its data centres located in Harlow, Slough and Stockport for delivering intiatives such as its award winning Kao SEED Fund for Social Enterprise and Environment Development, and the Kao Academy, which supports technology learning in schools.

Kao Data also supports the Good Things Foundation which helps communities access and better understand evolving technologies such as AI, and through initiatives like this and the Kao SEED Fund, Kao Data’s team will ensure the development creates a positive legacy for the local area via community funding and grassroots projects with schools and local stakeholders.

“Today’s data centres are the engine rooms of the digital age, but it’s vital that new developments work hand-in-hand with local stakeholders and are developed responsibly, with the community front of mind,” said David Bloom, Founder and Executive Chairman, Kao Data. “Our acquisition of this former industrial site in Park Royal demonstrates our longstanding commitments to sustainable redevelopment, and we’re excited to work closely with the OPDC to continue our expansion in West London.”

Detailed proposals for the site, which is expected to be ready for service in 2029, will be submitted and published over the coming months as part of the formal planning process.

Kao Data will also continue to engage and share progress with local representatives and residents as plans progress throughout the consultation stages – working closely with the OPDC to ensure the new facility meets all key planning criteria.
