Bobbie Neale (26), a Police Dispatcher, and Riley Falco (31), a Police Officer, were previously living in the Capital, and decided to make the step on to the property ladder with a three bedroom semi-detached Kennett style home at the Taylor’s Road development.

The couple made the decision to move to the development due to the value for money the home offered, whilst still being able to easily travel by both train and car into London for work and seeing their family.

The average age of a first-time buyer in the UK has increased by 21% since 2007, making residents 34 years old by the time they’ve bought their first property. Bobbie and Riley, however, show it is still possible to take that first step on the property ladder at a young age.[1]

The couple made use of the government-backed Help to Buy scheme which helped them to buy their new home.

Bobbie said: “Stotfold itself is a lovely small town which is very different to where we both grew up. We plan to have children in the future so we did look at the availability of schools in the area, and we were pleasantly surprised at how many there are. The area is full of greenery and there is plenty of outdoor spaces for children and families to enjoy. Not forgetting the number of pubs available within walking distance.

“The size of Stotfold Park is perfect, we’ve met lots of our neighbours who are really friendly. We’re all in the same position with buying a new build home so already we have shared interests.”
Stotfold Park, located in the south east of Bedfordshire close to the border with Hertfordshire, is comprised of just 78 homes and sits amongst beautiful open space and countryside.

Bobbie continued: “We set up an Instagram account (@bitsofhome) for our new home. I love taking photos and I love being able to share my décor ideas with people. Instagram is such a welcoming platform, you get so much inspiration from other accounts and you become an inspiration to others too.

“From start to finish the purchasing process with David Wilson Homes has been effortless. We were recommended an excellent mortgage advisor who made this all possible. We had guidance along the way and never once felt like we were out of our depth. The development Senior Sales Adviser, Daniel, is who we have to thank for this, it was a pleasure going through this process with him. We would absolutely recommend David Wilson Homes to our friends and family, in fact our close friends are soon going to be our neighbours!”

Jason Hearn, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “We are very proud of the opportunities we provide first-time buyers like Bobbie and Riley, to progress in their lives and set the foundations for an ever-exciting future.

“As a company that prides itself on top quality homes as well as excellent customer service, it is fantastic to hear the positive moving experience the couple had with our sales team.”

Stotfold Park is just 15 minutes from Letchworth, the world’s first Garden City which has a wide range of shops, bars, restaurants and a cinema.

Those commuting can do so by rail from Arlesey Train Station which has direct services to London St Pancras in 40 minutes. The development is also ideally located with easy access to Biggleswade, Stevenage, Bedford and Luton.
