Krispy Kreme has enlisted the help of Tiree Dawson, Runner-up World Gurning Champion, to teach the nation how to pull a truly frightful face

Krispy Kreme, home of the Original Glazed® doughnut, is on a mission this Halloween to inspire and reward the nation in the art of pulling spooky faces. They have called on the services of Tiree Dawson, runner-up in the annual World Gurning Championships, to give a step-by-step guide and some inspiration to contorting your features. Even the most timid trick-or-treater will have all the tools and tricks to deliver a terrible fright when out and about this week.

To truly spread the Halloween joy, Krispy Kreme is rewarding Brits who pull fiendish faces with a scarily good discount of up to 30% on their favourite doughnut dozen in Krispy Kreme shops. To claim their Face Off-er, Brits must say that they are there for the £12 offer and pull a frightful face to a member of staff to get any dozen doughnuts for just £12.

To help the nation deliver the perfect freaky face this Halloween, Krispy Kreme and Tiree have developed this perfectly gruesome guide:

A Gurner’s Guide to Pulling Gruesome Faces This Halloween (Tiree Dawson, World Gurning Championship Runner-Up)

Step 1 – Set Yourself Loose

Before you start, stretch your face and neck muscles fully. This will help you contort yourself to the maximum, while avoiding any gurning-related injuries.

Step 2 – Wind Your Neck In (or Out)

Start with your neck, twisting it to one side or tucking your chin right back into it for a truly petrifying pose.

Step 3 – Bare Your Fearsome Fangs

Next, focus on your mouth, turn up your lips to reveal your fearsome fangs. Then roll out your tongue for a ghoulish grin.

Step 4 – Follow Your Nose

Next is the nostrils – flare them out for a dragon-like nose or scrunch up that snout.

Step 5 – Swivel Those Eerie Eyes

Most importantly, your eyes – the window to your devilish soul. Roll them back or around in your head, or turn them outwards in different directions. And arch those eyebrows for maximum effect.

Step 6 – Show Your Hand

Finally, frame that face with your hands. Try a mutant mummy with hanging wrists, some curled-up werewolf claws, or a classic ‘Scream’.

Tiree Dawson, commented: “This Halloween season, I’ve teamed up with Krispy Kreme to help doughnut lovers perfect the ultimate spooky face for a scarily good reward! My easy-to-perform steps should give everyone the confidence to delight and surprise in Krispy Kreme shops in return for a delicious treat”.

Krispy Kreme’s new ghoulish doughnut graveyard for Halloween features devilishly delicious flavours including Undead Ned, with a chocolatey filling, Wrapped-up Rita, filled with Lotus Biscoff® Kreme, and Original Glazed® dressed up as Spooky Sprinkles, dipped in orange icing, half sprinkled with spooky Halloween sprinkles! All these, plus Original Glazed® and other favourites are available in Krispy Kreme shops now as part of their Ghoulish Graveyard Dozen, and for just £12 with their frightful face-offer from 25th to 27th October 2022.

So as not to scare our Krispy Kremers too much, and to secure the discount, customers must announce that they would like to make use of the £12 dozen offer before pulling their spookiest face. This will entitle them to buy any Dozen for £12 in UK Krispy Kreme retail shops.
