Lang Lang Announces Spectacular 2027 Tour

Piano icon of our time, Lang Lang, celebrates the greatest composers of all time when he brings a diverse and dynamic repertoire to his Lang Lang 2027 UK & Ireland tour. Traversing Mozart, Beethoven, Albeniz, Granados and Liszt, Lang Lang live in concert for 2027 kicks off in Cardiff Wales Millenium Centre on 25 April, spending the rest of the year moving to Dublin, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Nottingham and culminating in Glasgow, at The Royal Concert Hall on 7 December (full tour schedule above).

Lang Lang has carefully curated a recital that spans the elegance of Mozart, the emotional power and profound introspection of Beethoven, the vibrant colours and rhythms of Spain through Albéniz and Granados, and the dazzling brilliance of Liszt. The programme opens with Mozart’s sparkling Rondo in D major, before exploring the dramatic intensity of Beethoven’s iconic Pathétique Sonata and the deeply spiritual beauty of his final piano masterpiece, Sonata No. 31, Op. 110. Following the interval, audiences will be transported to the heart of Spain with a vivid selection from Albéniz’s Suite española, culminating in the evocative romance of Granados’ Quejas, o la maja y el ruiseñor. The evening concludes with two of Liszt’s contrasting gems: the lyrical serenity of Consolation No. 2 and the exhilarating fireworks of the electrifying Tarantella from Venezia e Napoli.

Heralded by the New York Times as “the hottest artist on the classical music planet”, Lang Lang plays sold-out concerts all over the world. He has formed ongoing collaborations with conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Gustavo Dudamel, Daniel Barenboim and Christoph Eschenbach and performs with all the world’s top orchestras. Lang Lang is known for thinking outside the box and frequently steps into different musical worlds. His performances at the GRAMMY Awards with Metallica, Pharrell Williams or jazz legend Herbie Hancock were watched by millions of viewers.

Lang Lang’s boundless drive to attract new audiences to classical music has brought him tremendous recognition: he was presented with the 2010 Crystal Award in Davos and was picked as one of the 250 Young Global Leaders by the World Economic Forum. He is also the recipient of honorary doctorates from the Royal College of Music, the Manhattan School of Music, and New York University. In December 2011, he was honoured with the highest prize awarded by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China and received the highest civilian honours in Germany (Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany) and France (Medal of the Orderof Arts and Letters). In 2016, Lang Lang was invited to the Vatican to perform for Pope Francis. He has also performed for numerous other international dignitaries, including four U.S. presidents and monarchs from many nations.
