Last chance for north London community groups to win big

Charities, community groups, clubs and sports teams in north London have less than a week to stake their claim for a share of a £15,000 prize pot.

Leading heating, plumbing and air movement materials supplier TG Lynes, based in Enfield, is supporting the local community by giving good causes the chance to win a facilities makeover through its Helping Hands campaign.

One winner will secure £10,000 worth of product and labour to benefit its building, while a lucky runner-up will receive £5,000 of product and labour.

The deadline for applications is midnight on Monday July 31.

Andrew Ingram, managing director of TG Lynes, said: “Our Helping Hands campaign is a fantastic way for us to support good causes and make a tangible difference in our local community.

“We have had some excellent entries already and it’s going to be a tough job for our judges to pick our two recipients.

“Time is running out for groups to get involved and put themselves in contention. We’ve made it really easy to apply and we look forward to hearing from more good causes before Monday’s deadline.”

Any group or organisation based in the Enfield vicinity – extending south to Hornsey, north to Hoddesdon, east to Epping and west to Barnet – is eligible to enter.

Entries can be made at http://www.tglynes.co.uk/helping-hands by providing an overview of what the organisation does, how it benefits the community and how £10,000 worth of product and labour would help.

This is the second year TG Lynes has demonstrated its support for its local community through Helping Hands, with Friends of Firs Farm and Teens Unite splitting the £15,000 prize equally last year.

Friends of Firs Farm has developed a disused green area at Firs Farm Wetlands and Playing Fields into a thriving space that is enjoyed by the local community.

TG Lynes’ support helped the group to create a community hub and cafe adjacent to the wetlands.

TG Lynes stocks industry leading brands and supplies thousands of products including valves, steel and copper tubes and fittings, press systems, composite and plastic plumbing, drainage solutions and support systems and tooling. An extensive plant hire service is also available.
