Last chance to win £15,000 community fund

The closing date for Enfield-based charities, community groups, clubs and sports team to apply for their share of a £15,000 community fund is fast approaching.

Leading heating, plumbing and air movement materials supplier TG Lynes launched its inaugural Helping Hands campaign at the beginning of July, giving good causes the chance to apply for help to improve their facilities.

The winners of the competition will secure £10,000 worth of product and labour and a lucky runner-up will benefit from the same combination up to the value of £5,000.

The deadline for entries is close of play on August 31.

Martin Hastings, Managing Director at TG Lynes, said: “We’ve already had many fantastic entries to our Helping Hands competition. There are certainly some very worthy good causes in our hometown of Enfield.

“Entries are open until the end of the month and I’d urge more groups to log-on and apply. It only takes 10 minutes to submit an entry.

“I know the team are really looking forward to going through all the entries and selecting the winners. It’s a fantastic initiative which forms just one part of our 110th anniversary celebrations.

“As a business, we are committed to operating sustainably. Of course, that means reducing our carbon footprint, but it’s also vitally important to us that we play a positive role in the local community.”

Groups can apply for prizes to help them open new premises, recover a building from a state of disrepair or improve existing facilities.

Applications can be made on the TG Lynes website – www.tglynes.co.uk/helping-hands – by providing an overview of what the organisation does, how it benefits the community and how £10,000 worth of product and labour would help.

TG Lynes stocks industry leading brands and supplies thousands of products including valves, steel and copper tubes and fittings, press systems, composite and plastic plumbing, drainage solutions and support systems and tooling. An extensive plant hire service is also available.
