LAUNDRY AGAINST LANDFILL: THE RECOVERY WORKSHOP IS COMING TO LONDON’S RICH MIX
From knickers to neckties, The rEcovery Workshop, brought to you by household cleaning brand Ecover, is here to highlight how to wash right, wear more and waste less. With fashion production accounting for 10% of global CO2 emissions*, the three-day event will help guests live clean by washing, stitching, mending, reviving or reimagining their clothes to give them a cheeky new lease of life – which could help save the world, one pair of pants at a time.
Whether upcycling undies or transforming trousers, members of the public can also get their hands on free refills of Ecover’s plant-based, biodegradable laundry detergent and fabric softener*, all whilst discovering the benefits and ease of washing new life into old clothes.
Guests are encouraged to bring a bag of their oldest garms along with them, those with upcycling potential will receive the perfect glow-up treatment. Anything seemingly ‘beyond help’ will be washed and transformed into offcuts so they can live on in a different form and prevented from going to landfill.
21st – 23rd September: 10am – 7pm
Rich Mix, 35 – 47 Bethnal Green Rd, London, E1 6LA
Throughout The rEcovery Workshop, guests will also be able to:
· Attend a one hour Upcycling Masterclass: “Save your wardrobe – easy ways to uplift, repair and relove your clothing” with Lydia Bolton on Thursday at 6pm, Friday at 1pm or Saturday at 12.30pm (spaces are limited, booking is required – see below for details)
