LINDT SPARKS FESTIVE JOY BY GIVING AWAY THOUSANDS OF FREE GOLD TEDDIES THIS DECEMBER

The festive period is known for being filled with childhood excitement and anticipation, but for many adults, that magic fades with time. Nowadays, the reality is endless to-do lists, head-scratching over present decisions and arranging travel plans that could rival the most esteemed travel agent.

According to new research from Lindt, almost half of UK adults (45 per cent) miss their childhood festive traditions, with receiving a stocking featuring top for 44 per cent and rising to 54 per cent for those aged 60+. Plus, over two thirds of adults (73 per cent) say they used to enjoy discovering chocolate in their stocking.

To reignite that magic this December with the ultimate stocking filler, Lindt is giving away thousands of its iconic Lindt TEDDY (100g), made with the finest Swiss chocolate to anyone who brings a stocking into a participating Lindt store. More than 2,000 will be given away for free nationwide across two weekends in December, 13th-14th and 20th-21st, while stocks last.

When it comes to the nation’s festive habits, research from Lindt found that on average, the UK’s stockings get moved into storage at age 15, despite 47 per cent of adults wishing they still partook in the tradition.

Furthermore, over half (57 per cent) agree that Christmas becomes more stressful and less joyful as you grow up, with 54 per cent actively wanting to seek out more moments of festive magic this year.

Angèle Villet, Marketing Director at Lindt & Sprüngli UK, said: “Our research shows adults are nostalgic about their childhood traditions, so this Christmas let our Lindt TEDDY bring back the festive joy. Get your beloved stocking from the loft or treat yourself to a new one before heading to a participating Lindt store and add more magic into the season with Lindt TEDDY.”

What’s more, for every Lindt TEDDY (100g) given away and sold during the festive period, £1 will be donated to the NSPCC to support Childline, Lindt’s longstanding charity partner, with a target of £100,000. To date, Lindt & Sprüngli UK has raised over £800,000 for the NSPCC since the start of the partnership in 2016.

Kirsty Lawson, Associate Head of Corporate Partnerships at the NSPCC, said: “We’re delighted that Lindt & Sprüngli UK is once again supporting the NSPCC. This festive season, many children will be gleefully opening a Lindt TEDDY they’ve found in their stocking, yet, for other children, the holiday period brings uncertainty and fear within the home. Young people will be reaching out to Childline with a variety of concerns. This partnership helps us continue to fund this crucial service at a time when children need us most.”
