LOCAL CARE HOME PARTNERS WITH LOCAL SCHOOL FOR ENFIELD INTERGENERTIONAL PROJECT.

Hugh Myddelton House Care Home in Southgate, have teamed up with Merryhills Primary school for an intergenerational project, connecting residents with local school children.
Pupils and teachers from Merryhills Primary School, were delighted to be invited to visit Hugh Myddelton House.

The Enfield project began during lock down and encouraged students from local schools to get creative and reach out to older people in their community by sending letters and hand drawn pictures. It was wonderful for residents and students to meet each other in person and make friends as part of the inter-generational scheme
Jade Shea, general manager at Hugh Myddelton House said: “Residents have really enjoyed sharing their stories with the young people; so many have incredible tales and they love hearing the adventures of the students. The students seem to really enjoy their time together to, they were sad when it was time for them to go back to school and asked if they could stay longer!”
Our varied life enrichment programme keeps residents active, and provides a daily choice of engaging physical, mental and spiritual activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
