Local Housebuilder’s donation helps Peacehaven & Telscombe FC complete roof restoration project

Local housebuilder Barratt Homes has presented its final cheque to Peacehaven and Telscombe Football Club following a two year partnership which saw Barratt donate a total of £6,000 to the club’s roof restoration fundraiser.

Alongside an initial £1000 donation in December 2018 to kickstart the fundraising, Barratt Southern Counties committed to a further quarterly donation of £100 per home for the first 50 homes sold at the development. Barratt’s contribution alongside donations made by the wider community ensured that the club was able to reach their target of £37,000.

The funds have enabled significant repairs for the clubhouse roof to be carried out which were vital for the safety of the building and its ability to be used for the new season.

Sue Norwood, Chair of Peacehaven and Telscombe Football Club, comments: “We are pleased that the roof restoration has been carried out so successfully and our thanks extend to Barratt Homes, who have been vital with their fundraising appeal. It is very much appreciated by everyone at the club, and we are looking forward to returning to football this summer.”

Lynnette St-Quintin, Sales and Marketing Director for Barratt Southern Counties, comments: “We are pleased to have played a small role in contributing to this project alongside Peacehaven’s wider community, and hope to continue our partnership with the club. Peacehaven and Telscombe FC is an important part of the town and we are happy that the local community will be able to enjoy the new clubhouse as grassroots football returns this summer.”

Barratt Southern Counties is currently building its Chalkers Rise development just over a mile from Peacehaven and Telscombe Football Club. Current availability includes range of two-bedroom apartments, with prices starting from £223,995.
