This summer, London Designer Outlet (LDO) is inviting families to discover a season packed with adventure, kindness and unforgettable days out, with a programme of free activities, family-friendly experiences and unbeatable value designed to help everyone make the most of summer together.
At the heart of this year’s programme is joy – encouraging families to explore, connect and create lasting memories through giant adventures, meaningful moments and simple acts of kindness.
JOY’S GIANT SUMMER TRAIL
The Giants of Wembley Park are waiting to be discovered! NEW for this summer, join LDO’s new character ‘Joy’ on a giant-sized adventure around LDO and uncover the stories behind Wembley Park’s iconic Giants – larger-than-life mural characters inspired by the people, places and moments that have shaped this vibrant neighbourhood.
Pick up your trail sheet from Guest Services before following Joy’s clues through the centre. Along the way, you’ll discover fascinating facts about Wembley Park, spot the Giants hidden throughout the trail and collect nine secret letters.
Unscramble the letters to reveal the mystery word before returning to Guest Services to collect your very own Joy badge and a chocolate treat. It’s a fun, free adventure that transforms a family day out into a chance to explore, discover and see Wembley Park through fresh eyes. If you’re lucky enough, you may even get to meet Joy… so keep your eyes peeled around the centre!
WEAR YOUR JOY
Summer is full of exciting moments, but every feeling deserves celebrating. At the NEW Wear Your Joy station, children can choose a colourful sticker that reflects how they’re feeling before adding a matching leaf to the blooming Joy Tree.
Inspired by LDO’s partnership with Talk Club and its simple but powerful question, “How are you out of 10?”, Wear Your Joy encourages children and families to pause, check in, and start gentle conversations about emotions and wellbeing.
The experience celebrates every feeling and reminds children that they’re never alone in how they feel, reflecting the centre’s ongoing commitment to family mental wellbeing. It’s a small ritual with a lasting message: talking about feelings should feel as natural as talking about your day.
STEP INTO THEIR SHOES
As families prepare for a new school year, LDO is inviting visitors to help give every child the chance to start September with confidence. The ‘In Their Shoes’ charity initiative is back. For every pair of school shoes purchased from participating brands – including Clarks and Skechers – shoppers will receive a special donation sticker.
To complete the process, simply head to Guest Services to add your sticker to the physical ‘shoeometer’ board. For every sticker added, LDO will donate £1 to Solace Women’s Aid to help children living in refuge purchase their much-needed back-to-school equipment. Visitors can also leave a message of encouragement on the display, creating a visual celebration of kindness and showing how small acts can make a life-changing difference.
BIG SCREEN MAGIC FOR LESS: FAMILY FILMS FROM JUST £2 AT CINEWORLD
For a much-needed break after all those steps, families can head to Cineworld at LDO to catch a film. With the “Movies For Juniors” promotion, parents and children aged 14 and under can enjoy specially selected family screenings on the big screen. Best of all, with tickets starting from just £2 for both kids and adults, it’s a brilliant, budget-friendly way to round off a busy day of shopping.
HUNGRY KIDS? WE’VE GOT THAT COVERED
LDO is helping families eat for less and make the most of summer with great-value dining offers across the centre. Whether you’re stopping for lunch between shopping, fuelling up before a Wembley event or taking a well-earned break during the school holidays, there’s something for every appetite.
Families can enjoy FREE kids’ meals at favourites including Frankie & Benny’s and Las Iguanas, half-price kids’ meals at Big Moe’s, alongside a range of seasonal offers across participating restaurants throughout the summer. See Notes to Editors for full T&C’s.
Whether you’re visiting for the school holidays, a concert, football match or simply a family day together, LDO brings shopping, dining, entertainment and unforgettable experiences together in one destination – making it the perfect place to discover joy with the family this summer.
