This Wednesday afternoon – ahead of England’s World Cup getting under way – the capital’s globe-trotting international party band, The London Essentials, will be touring Central London in an open-top London bus, serenading passers-by and getting everyone into the party mood as the Three Lions kick-off their bid to bring football home.
The ultimate luxury party, The London Essentials have played gigs worldwide for a who’s who of A-list celebrities. The band has also entertained top global brands – including F1, Steven Tyler’s Janie’s Fund, The Tim Henman Foundation, F&M, Cartier, The David Foster Foundation, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United. This week, The London Essentials have returned to their home city for the start of the World Cup. With Londoners having to hang around for a late kick-off this Wednesday, the band decided to do something fun to get people in the party mood.
And the connection between music and sport is a strong one, with research revealing that most Brits regard music and sport and music to be the UK’s two best exports to the world (38% and 32% respectively) – and the two are often inter-linked, with music often being the soundtrack to sporting success and uniting the fans.

With people having to hang around for a 9pm kick-off, we wanted to do something fun to get people in the party mood during the afternoon from 2pm to 8.30pm. The route for the bus tour of London on Wednesday 17th June has been under wraps for weeks, although the outline of the route map has come to light from social media in recent days. Starting at Chiltern Street at 2pm, the all-singing open-top London Bus is expected to pass through Notting Hill, The Serpentine, The Royal Albert Hall and Trafalgar Square during the afternoon.
