London Eye goes dark in support of WWF Earth Hour

On March 23 2024, the lastminute.com London Eye will switch off its lights for one hour to support the WWF global initiative, Earth Hour.

From 8:30pm to 9:30pm the lastminute.com London Eye will go dark in solidarity with individuals, businesses and attractions across the UK and across the globe to show its support for the global movement to encourage people to protect the planet and take action against climate change.

WWF’s Earth Hour is an annual event, running since 2007, raising awareness of the small actions individuals and businesses can take to tackle climate change and help create a brighter future. During this hour, people and businesses are encouraged to turn off non-essential lights and unplug unnecessary electrical appliances to reduce their carbon footprint.

Dare Ilori, Group Sustainability Director of Merlin Entertainments, the lastminute.com “We are proud to join millions of people and businesses globally in supporting WWF Earth Hour. Switching off the lights of the London Eye for an hour raises awareness about the urgent climate and nature crisis happening worldwide. In turn, we hope this will inspire Londoners, as a collective community, to make changes in our daily lives to reduce our carbon footprint and protect our planet – because small actions can make a big difference”.
