New research from PoundToy has revealed the most expensive private schools around the UK, along with the most affordable ones and how much you need to earn to send your child there.

The most expensive private school is Cherwell College Oxford, which charges its boarding pupils £19,000 per term which works out as £58,500 a year – in order to send your child here you would need a minimum average income of just under £100,000.

Locations of the most expensive boarding schools are certainly concentrated in the south of England, as all but one of the top thirty most expensive being located in that area.

Eton and Harrow have produced 33 former Prime Ministers, including the current incumbent Boris Johnson, yet these two famous schools are ranked down in 25th and 26th respectively, with them both charging just over £14,000 per term.
