London legal SME triples marketing department to drive growth

Flex Legal, the award-winning legal SME, has expanded its marketing team with two key appointments. Russell Mort, Head of Marketing, has welcomed both Dani Webster as Senior Marketing Manager and Grace Davis as Marketing Executive. After a year of successful growth and new achievements, including picking up New Law Business of the Year at The Lawyer Awards, this team expansion is set to take the company’s mission to even greater heights.

With offices in Central London and Manchester, Flex Legal is dedicated to people-powered legal services. It launched a decade ago and has a 40 strong team. Offering on-demand legal resourcing, the company aims to provide flexible, high-quality interim paralegals and lawyers to teams. It’s also known for its work in championing social mobility across the sector, running Flex Trainee and CoSec Trainee to support aspiring solicitors and Company Secretaries from underrepresented socio-economic backgrounds.

Heading up the team is Russell Mort, an award-winning marketing leader bringing over 20 years of experience. Having previously worked at The Law Society of Australia, Mort has been well positioned to drive brand transformation across the legal sector. Over the past nine months he’s played a key role in Flex Legal’s growth. Now, instead of relying on a single resource, he is supported by Dani Webster, who specialises in Design Thinking to develop cross-functional campaigns, and Grace Davis, bringing fresh creativity. This new London team will be supporting established Senior Marketing Executive Thahera Jalil, who leads Flex Legal’s Manchester branch.

This new marketing department comes at a key time in Flex Legal’s success, especially after its recent win for New Law Business of the Year at The Lawyer Awards. Flex Legal has also been officially ranked by Chambers and Partners in the New Law Guide 2026 both Europe-wide and Global-wide, marking global recognition.

Russell Mort, Head of Marketing at Flex Legal, said, “This is an amazing milestone for Flex Legal, and a true testament to our latest growth. I’m so pleased to be surrounded by incredibly talented, purpose-driven people, where there is a clear opportunity to scale and push the boundaries. By expanding our team, we now have the backing and resources we need to refine our strategies, deepen our client relationships, and help the legal sector redesign the way it works.”

Overall, the marketing department aims to amplify Flex Legal’s impact of changing how the legal industry accesses diverse talent, and how legal professionals build their careers.
