London PR firm helps raise £7,973 for Meningitis Now

This summer London-based integrated marketing communications agency, tigerbond set out to climb the Three Peaks of the UK in memory of their beloved colleague, Rhiannon Evans.
The London team, alongside colleagues from Leeds, Manchester and Glasgow, raised nearly £8,000 for the UK’s leading meningitis charity, Meningitis Now, in honour of Rhiannon who tragically lost her life to the disease last year.
Inspired by Rhiannon’s determination, drive and spirit, three separate teams tackled Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis with Helvellyn also thrown in for good measure as a result of poor weather conditions.
Thanks to colleagues, friends, family and tigerbond’s match funding benefit, the agency raised £7,973 with the funds allowing the charity to provide emotional, practical and financial support for people in the UK who have been affected by meningitis.
For team members who didn’t take part in the physical climbs, there was also a virtual challenge for colleagues to participate in.
Laurna Woods, CEO of tigerbond, who was part of the 10-strong team who climbed Ben Nevis, said: “Together with Rhiannon’s family, we wanted to raise as much money as possible for Meningitis Now, inspired by Rhiannon’s incredible values. We aimed to honour the unbelievable person she was and give back to the charity which has been a huge source of support.
“Despite the weather, which was at times determined to discourage us, our teams were resilient and conquered the four peaks, spurred on by the memory of Rhiannon.
“I am overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters which will help fund the invaluable services Meningitis Now offers to families affected by the disease. It pushed many of us out of our comfort zone, however, it highlighted just what we’re capable of, including those who clocked miles virtually.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us and kindly donated to this wonderful cause, as well as our fantastic guides who made sure we achieved the Three Peaks safely.”
Dr Tom Nutt, CEO of Meningitis Now, said: “We are really grateful to all of the staff at Tigerbond for undertaking this incredible fundraising challenge in Rhiannon’s memory.
“Taking on the Three Peaks, particularly in unpredictable weather, is a testament to the dedication and camaraderie of everyone involved, and a tribute to the affection that Rhiannon inspired.
“The funds that Tigerbond have raised will make a real difference in the fight against meningitis, helping Meningitis Now to raise awareness of the disease and provide specialist support for those who have been impacted.”
