London Restaurant Offering FREE Meals for ‘Third Wheelers’ This Valentine’s Day
Encouraging couples to celebrate the ‘third wheel’ in their relationship, this Valentine’s Day Italian restaurant group, Vapiano, will be offering FREE main dishes to the first 50 ‘third wheelers’ in their London Tottenham Court Road restaurant next month.
Let’s face it, Valentine’s Day can be a pretty bleak day for singletons up and down the country, so it’s no surprise 54% of Brits admitted they would actually be happy to ‘third wheel’ on Valentine’s Day.
Fortunately, the same survey found that over 1 in 3 couples said they would quite enjoy having a third person at the dinner table. In light of this, Vapiano in Tottenham Court Road will be launching a one-day offer between 12-4pm on 14th February, providing a FREE main meal to 50 lucky guests attending with their favourite couple.
The term ‘third wheel’ remains prevalent in pop culture and continues to be used in everyday conversations, social media, and entertainment. Due to its relatability, the term found its way as early as the 1960s, particularly in both films and TV shows, where being a ‘third wheel’ was used to describe a friend who frequently accompanied a couple on social outings. Today, the term is often used on internet memes and through social content highlighting the many perks of joining your pals’ couple outings.
Priding themselves on the culture of the restaurant, their laid-back friendly ambience and being the home of handmade pasta, Vapiano has been a much-loved go-to for UK diners since 2008. Known for offering hyper-customisable menus, Vapiano prides itself on its handmade fresh pasta and pizza that are cooked fresh to order using quality ingredients made on site on a daily basis.
The Valentine’s Day offer will be available on 14th February only, at the Tottenham Court Road location between 12 and 4pm for the first 50 people to attend with a couple. The main dish will be complimentary, all other items must be purchased. Please let staff know when you arrive.
