London Revealed To Have Sunniest Pubs To Visit In July Heatwave
As the UK is set for another heatwave in July, the nation is in desperate need of the extra boost of vitamin D, sunshine and quality time spent outdoors.
LloydsPharmacy carried out a brand new study analysing 25,000 UK pubs and restaurants, plus, 600 beaches, ranking them by how sunny they are. Reviewing the average sun time, sunrise, sunset and temperature for each location, to work out a final index score of where gets the most sun during summer ☀️
So, if you’re planning your UK staycations, weekends away and summer holiday seaside trips – then make sure to visit these sun traps to make the most of the British summer.
We’re a nation obsessed with weather. On average, the popular phrase ‘weather for tomorrow’ gains 11,100,000 online searches every month with 25,851 articles published on the topic in the past 12 months alone – that’s 2,154 a day. Especially after such a wet May (and June), the nation is eager to enjoy as much of the sun as possible. Plus, the UK is infamous for unreliable weather, so the sunnier the spot, the better the chance of actually being able to enjoy it.
The Ship Inn, in Romford, London is crowned the sunniest pub, with the sun lasting for 15 hours and seven minutes and an average summer sun set at 20:30 – that gives you time to top up on your tan and catch up with friends.
In second place is another London location, this time The Watermill. The eatery has a total sun time of 15 hours 40 minutes, making it a great place for lunchtime catch ups as well as after-work gatherings. The slightly earlier average sunrise time of 05:20 also makes it a great place for breakfast.
Another sunny pub based in London is The White Horse in Watford coming in at position 7. The sun’s out here for slightly longer than our top spot at 15 hours and eight minutes. Which gives you opportunity in the day to catch the sun for an hour or two. It doesn’t set until 20:32, meaning you can enjoy the warmth late into the evening.
