Honi Poke, the Hawaiian poke bowl favourite, opened the doors to its 35th store, in the heart of Canary Wharf to day long queues of excited diners hoping to bag themselves a £1 bowl.
The new opening from the largest poke chain in UK, famous for its made-to-order bowls, and sustainably sourced fish sold over one thousand £1 bowls on opening day, clearing the shelves of the delicious healthy lunch alternative.
This store, which has been converted from an Island Poke site to better cater to the huge daytime audience, will be the perfect addition to provide healthy, flavourful lunches for the busy Canary Wharf audience.
The launch coincides with the brand’s exciting new summer menu, which sees Honi Poke turning up the heat on one of the biggest food trends this year: Swicy.
Combining sweet and spicy flavours with craveable crunch, Honi Poke’s new summer menu introduces six new dishes, a first-of-its-kind tortilla chip poke base and a host of new toppings.
The Swicy Prawn Bowl – a fusion of flavours, which brings together the sweetness of prawns, mango and avocado, the spice of citrus masago sriracha and wasabi furikake, and the crunch of pickled red cabbage and housemade pickled cucumber, will join five more dishes inspired by flavours from across the Pacific and East Asia.
Including four brand new salads which opens up a new category for the brand.
Diners can also expect all of the old favourite dishes such as Honi Salmon, Ahi Tuna and Sriracha Mayo Salmon and warm bowls including Chicken Katsu Curry, Miso Salmon and Gochujang Chicken.
Hilary Brett, CEO at Honi Poke said: “Every launch is a huge moment for us. We’re bringing our brand and food to a new audience, in the hope they will love what they see and taste. Canary Wharf is busy at lunch time and we’re excited to be able to offer our bowls of Honi Poke swicy summer flavours to tempt diners out of the office, to enjoy a healthy, flavourful moment of joy in the middle of the day.”
