London’s Deputy Mayor for Education and Childcare praises Glebe Primary School in Harrow during visit

London’s Deputy Mayor for Education and Childcare, Joanne McCartney, this week visited Glebe Primary School in Harrow to see first-hand the work being done to achieve the Mayor’s Healthy Schools London Gold Award status.

Glebe Primary School gained their Healthy Schools London Gold Award in recognition of their focus on increasing healthy food choices and improving the dental health of the pupils.

The Deputy Mayor saw first-hand the impact this work is having on the school’s pupils as she met with staff and students learning to look after their teeth and growing fruit and vegetables.

This school has previously achieved Healthy Schools London Bronze and Silver Awards. Glebe Primary School obtained their Gold Award in March 2018.

The Mayor of London is supporting schools in creating healthier environments for their pupils. Healthy Schools London gives Bronze, Silver and Gold awards to school that undertake activities which encourage children to learn about their health, and develop their motivation to make healthy choices.
