Maison Mirabeau presents the fourth annual Boisdale Life Editor’s Lunch

In what will be first major media event in the capital after lockdown, Boisdale Life, the seasonal magazine of the Boisdale group, whose live-music restaurants and bars, have been central fixtures in the London hospitality sector for over 30 years, and Maison Mirabeau, the award-winning French rosé and gin brand, will host 220 guests at the fourth Editor’s Lunch and Awards on 30 June at Boisdale of Canary Wharf.

The lunch, which has now become something of a fixture, is held annually to thank the writers, interviewees and key partners that have supported and participated in the success of Boisdale Life over the previous year. It also recognizes London’s most influential diary writers and influencers from the Boisdale Life community who have chronicled the restaurant’s gregarious and often-mischievous spirit.

“Boisdale Life captures how we roll,” said Editor-in-Chief and founder Ranald Macdonald. “I don’t mean to sound pretentious, but the relationship between Boisdale and its customers is founded on a philosophy, one that is strongly libertarian and free-thinking. Our customers don’t photograph food; they celebrate the art of dining with conversation and repartee.”

The magazine, in a few short years, won a reputation for seamlessly fusing good living with inspired debate. It covers food and drink – of course – but also cigars, music, history, politics, travel and sport, as well as the gamut of life’s observations, all penned by some of the best scribblers in the country.

They include food and drinks writers William Sitwell, Tom Parker Bowles, Alice Lascelles, Bill Knott, Ed Cumming, Michael Karam, Valentine Warner, Joe Warwick, Henry Jeffreys and Emma Hughes, as well as respected journalists, opinion writers and commentators such as Olivia Utley, Bruce Anderson, Madeline Grant, Tim Stanley, Joy Lo Dico, Kate Andrews, Nick Ferrari, Pippa Malmgren, William Dalrymple, Rachel Cunliffe, Robin Swithinbank, Harry Mount, Ben Oliver, Roger Bootle and Con Coughlin.

The award categories up for grabs this year are of course the Boisdale Life Writer Award and Best Feature, Best Music Feature as well as Best Table Talk, Food, Drink, and Pursuits column.

“As a stand-alone quarterly publication, we punch well above our weight,” said Boisdale’s Director of Sales & Marketing Andrew Davies. “Despite everything, we continue to evolve and grow, proud to be publishing original works by some really great talent and partnering with some of the most dynamic and exciting innovators in the world of food and drink.”

This year’s lunch is in association with Maison Mirabeau, whose range of multiple prize-winning rosés, sparkling rosés and dry gin have become bywords for summer dining and festive occasions across the globe, and which are now listed at all Boisdale restaurants, bars and terraces.

Founded in 2010, Maison Mirabeau was the brainchild of Stephen and Jenny Cronk who, with three young children in tow, embarked upon a family adventure, swapping South London for Provence, and creating one of the world’s most beloved brands of rosé.

“We are excited to be part of such an iconic event,” said Stephen. “I’ve enjoyed visiting Boisdale since it opened in 1989, with its great ambiance: be it food, drink, music and of course conversation. It makes Boisdale the perfect place to enjoy a glass of Mirabeau!”
