MALLOW USHERS IN 2025 WITH AN EXQUISITE NEW YEAR’S EVE MENU DESIGNED BY VEGAN CHEF SARAH WASSERMAN
Ring in the new year with an extraordinary dining experience at Mallow, where renowned vegan chef Sarah Wasserman has created an exclusive six-course New Year’s Eve menu.
For one night only, on 31 December 2024, guests are invited to embark on a culinary journey through the vibrant fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisines.
The Nikkei Vistosa menu is a celebration of bold colours, fresh ingredients, and lively spices, offering a unique and indulgent way to welcome 2025.
Designed to embody the essence of innovation and sustainability that defines Mallow, every course reflects Sarah Wasserman’s expertise and passion for pushing the boundaries of plant-based cuisine.
The evening begins with a glass of Louis Pommery English Brut on arrival, setting a celebratory tone for the feast ahead.
The first course, Encebollado Agedashi Tofu, showcases Mallow’s signature ability to elevate plant-based dining, featuring lightly fried silken tofu served in a fragrant Ecuadorian vegetable broth infused with tomato, peppers, herbs, and paprika.
This is followed by the Burnt Hispi Cabbage, where braised and robata-charred cabbage is paired with a tangy carrot miso dressing and heirloom carrot pickles, a dish that combines depth of flavour with visual artistry.
The menu continues with Artichoke Pineapple Cactus Ceviche, a refreshing and intricate dish that brings together Roman artichokes, pineapple, pickled cactus, ginger, and samphire, all dressed in a zesty pineapple lime leche de tigre.
Next comes the Oyster Mushroom Anticucho, a standout skewer of marinated oyster mushrooms served with red pepper cream, aji verde, and pickled kumquat, blending smoky and tangy elements with a vibrant presentation.
As the meal builds to its finale, guests are treated to Sazón Amarillo Rice, a beautifully seasoned annatto-infused yellow rice that serves as a comforting yet sophisticated nod to Peruvian culinary traditions.
The grand finale comes in the form of two indulgent desserts. The Sesame Namelaka features a velvety sesame and dark chocolate mousse, complemented by a pool of matcha anglaise and topped with a crisp toasted sesame miso tuile.
The meal concludes with Yuzu Alfajores, delicate cookie sandwiches filled with creamy yuzu and yuzu chocolate, providing a sweet and tangy finish to this extraordinary dining experience.
Chef Sarah Wasserman describes the New Year’s Eve menu as a testament to the evolution of vegan cuisine. “For this special evening, we wanted to craft something that reflects the joy and creativity of celebrating a new year. The Nikkei Vistosa menu is a fusion of cultures and flavours, designed to excite and delight our guests while showing the incredible possibilities of plant-based dining.”
Priced at £65 per person, the Nikkei Vistosa menu is available from 5pm on New Year’s Eve, welcoming both walk-ins and bookings.
