MARKET PLACE HARROW LAUNCH IS A ROARING SUCCESS AMONG LOCALS

HARROW’s latest street food venue, Market Place Harrow has celebrated a successful launch with strong visitor numbers across its first days of trading. Launched by Market Place UK which is the capital’s fastest growing street food restaurant and bar, the Harrow eatery officially opened to the public on Thursday 6 April.

Almost 5,000 guests visited Harrow’s newest street food haven in its first week, with the borough’s foodies keen to get their hands on the venue’s tasty selection of street food treats.

Figures from the opening also revealed Harrow to be a region of stir-fry lovers, with Pepper Spice’s brilliant boxes crowned as the most popular dish, selling just under 1,000 units over the course of opening week. The popular vendor offers foodies a chance to feast upon authentic Cantonese flavours and choose from noodles or rice to build their own personalised box, complete with a choice of protein, sauce and extras. As for Harrow’s favoured drinking options? Peroni led the way for beers sold, while the Market Place ‘Tropicali’ picked second spot and the coveted title of most popular cocktail.

The 300-capacity venue offers a mouthwatering selection of street food from around the world from eight permanent traders. Most notably, Market Place Harrow’s lineup includes the third physical location for Sides by The Sidemen – the viral YouTube collective serving succulent fried chicken burgers, tenders and wings.

Blake Henderson, managing director of Market Place London, said: “We’re so pleased with the success of the launch of our newest venture in Harrow. There was a real buzz about the venue from the minute we opened our doors, and we were really happy to see such a strong turnout in our first week of operation. It signals a bright future ahead and is a true testament to the hard work of the full team, our vendors and service staff.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has helped make this launch possible, and we look forward to welcoming even more visitors through our doors over the coming months.”

Offering a choice of the best sweet and savoury street food brands, vendors at the market also include Bread Ahead Bakery, Chaii & Spice, Argentinian Grill, Farm House Kebab, Little Tokyo and Chelo along with a vibrant bar, serving cocktails, beers, freshly squeezed juice, coffee and more.

Maz Qazi, marketing manager, said: “Our opening weekend was fantastic – we welcomed so many Harrow foodies and families. It was brilliant to see them enjoying meals and drinks with friends in the sunshine in our outdoor space, which is definitely a sign of things to come this summer.

“The launch is just the start of what is set to be a fantastic addition to Harrow’s high street, bringing an injection of life and energy to the local area. Over the coming months, we have lots more exciting events and treats for all our visitors including plenty of prizes to be won for those lucky enough to get a spin on our wheel of fortune, as well as a fantastic roster of DJs in the pipeline. Watch this space for more details coming soon.”

Harrow’s latest street food venue is family and dog-friendly, offering freshly made juices, coffee and free Wi-Fi to provide locals with a relaxed place to work throughout the day, in a modern space that features exposed ceilings, green foliage and an array of aesthetic neon signs.
