Marugame Udon, Japan’s favourite udon and tempura restaurant group, is cooling down diners this summer with the launch of six exciting new additions to its menu available from 29th April.
Bringing a taste of Japan’s seasonal favourites to British shores, the summer menu features three brand-new udon dishes, each bursting with authentic flavour and vibrant character: the refreshingly chilled Japanese Cold Udon, the nutritious and colourful Genki Salad Udon, and the indulgently rich Sumo Carbonara Udon. Complementing the noodle selection, Marugame is also introducing three tempting new tempura options, offering even more variety for fans of their freshly prepared, hand-crafted comfort food.

Noodle lovers will be able to enjoy Japanese Cold Udon, a traditional favourite in Japan, perfect for warmer days. This refreshing dish is served in a chilled ‘mentsuyu’ broth, a perfectly balanced blend of salty-sweet soy sauce and deeply savoury dashi, offering a true taste of Japanese summer for £6.95.

For those seeking something vibrant and energising, the Genki Salad Udon is a nourishing cold udon salad available with your choice of Pulled Shiitake Mushroom, Sweet Soy Chicken, or Marinated Salmon from £8.45. Inspired by the Japanese word ‘genki’ (元気), meaning healthy, lively, and full of spirit, this dish delivers both flavour and feel-good energy in every bite.

Adding a decadent twist to the menu is the Sumo Carbonara Udon for £11.45, Marugame Japans unique take on a traditional classic. This hearty dish combines the richness of creamy carbonara with udon noodles, offering an indulgent experience reminiscent of the hearty meals enjoyed by sumo wrestlers providing diners with a sumo-sized indulgence.

Also joining the Summer 2025 line-up are three seasonal tempura delights, celebrating the Japanese tradition of showcasing fresh ingredients at their peak. New to the menu is the Soft Shell Crab Tempura (£2.75), light, crispy, and packed with ocean-fresh flavour, alongside the sweet and crunchy Baby Corn Tempura (£1). And for dessert lovers, the Sweet Apple Gyoza (£1) offers a deliciously crispy treat with a warm, spiced apple filling wrapped in golden tempura, the perfect finish to any meal.

New dishes will be available at Marugame Udon from Tuesday 29th April. Marugame Udon is open daily from 11am until 11pm (10pm in certain locations).
