Marugame Udon – Japan’s favourite udon and tempura restaurant group – is launching two brand new dishes this Autumn from 24th September. Introducing Tantan, a warming bowl of fresh udon in rich sesame soup, and Udonuts, bringing the cult desert from Marugame Udon in Japan, straight to the UK.

Noodle lovers will be able to enjoy Tantan Chilli Chicken, udon noodles with minced chicken, spinach, onsen egg in a rich sesame soup, topped with sesame seeds, a hint of chilli oil and bonito flakes for £12.45 or Tantan Japanese Mushroom, udon noodles with mixed Japanese mushrooms, spinach in a rich sesame soup, topped with sesame seeds, a hint of chilli oil and seaweed sprinkle for £11.95.

For those who love a sweet treat, experience udon like never before in the form of the Udonut. Made with leftover udon dough and deep fried for a unique and chewy, ‘mochi mochi’ texture, Udonuts have been in the planning stages for three years. Created through much trial and error, using leftover udon noodles as the main ingredient and calculating the optimum time for the dough to be left to rest, the Udonut has the perfect chewy, doughy texture.

At great value, Udonuts are available at just £1.50 for 3 pieces or £2.45 for 6 pieces with the option to add Matcha custard or Chocolate dipping sauce on the side for just an additional 30p to level up the sweet treat.

New research by Marugame Udon found that over a third of Brits long for a sweet treat in the afternoon, frequently or almost everyday, with 3.00 – 4.00 PM being the most popular time when cravings set in. To satisfy this hunger and to celebrate the launch of Udonuts in the UK, Marugame is introducing a hotline for customers’ sweet treat needs. As Marugame found that most cravings hit between 3.00 – 4.00 PM , the hotline will be open from 3.00 – 4.00 PM from 1st – 2nd October.

Hotline Open: 3.00 – 4.00 PM on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd October. The first 100 requests each day will be fulfilled on a first come first served basis and limited to one order per customer.*
