MAYOR OF BARNET JOINS BARRATT LONDON TO CELEBRATE TOPPING OUT

On Friday 8th April local dignitaries from Barnet Council, including the Worshipful the Mayor of the London Borough of Barnet, Councillor Alison Cornelius, joined Barratt London and its joint venture partner Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing (MTVH) in celebrating the Topping Out of Harp View Apartments at Hendon Waterside.

The Mayor was presented with a ceremonial trowel by Barratt West London Project Director, Danny Farenden, and invited to pour concrete on top of Harp View Apartments, marking the block’s build completion. The new apartment building, which overlooks the Welsh Harp Reservoir, will bring 143 new homes to the area, as part of the wider regeneration of West Hendon.

Councillor Alison Cornelius, Mayor of Barnet, commented: “It was an honour to have been invited to the Topping Out ceremony, marking the end of construction on Harp View Apartments. With over 2,100 new homes being brought to the area, the Hendon Waterside development has renewed the sense of community in the area and provided much needed quality housing for past, present and future residents.”

Danny Farenden, Project Director at Barratt West London, said: “Hendon Waterside demonstrates the positive impact that a major regeneration project can have on its local area. The development will not only bring new homes to West Hendon, but will rejuvenate and bring new life to its community through improved transport infrastructure and support of the current retailers on West Hendon Broadway, as well as providing the new commercial piazza with its concierge and supermarket. This Topping Out ceremony marks another exciting milestone for the scheme, and I’d like to thank the Mayor, together with the representatives from Barnet Council and our joint venture partner Metropolitan Thames Valley, for joining us to mark the occasion.”

Homes at Barratt London’s Hendon Waterside currently start at £384,000 for a one bedroom apartment, with two and three bedroom homes also available.
