MAYOR OF ENFIELD JOINS SPECSAVERS ENFIELD TO CELEBRATE 30TH ANNIVERSARY

The Mayor of Enfield, Cllr Emma Supple, paid a special visit to Specsavers Enfield this week to celebrate three decades of service to the local community.
Cllr Supple visited the Palace Gardens store on July 2 as part of the week-long celebrations, joining the team to mark three decades of caring for the community’s eye and ear health.
Cllr Emma Supple, Mayor of Enfield, added: ‘It was a pleasure to visit Specsavers in Palace Gardens and help celebrate 30 wonderful years of service to the Enfield community. Local businesses like this are the backbone of our high streets, and it’s fantastic to see a store so embedded in local life, from supporting families’ eye and hearing health to bringing the community together with fun activities like this. Congratulations to the whole team on this brilliant milestone.’
Roshan Mukhey, store director at Specsavers Enfield, said: ‘It was a real honour to welcome the Mayor to our store this week. Thirty years is a huge milestone for us and having Cllr Supple join us to mark the occasion made it even more special.’
The visit capped off a busy week, which saw the locally owned and run store hold two competitions to get the community involved in the festivities. Adults were challenged to name 10 iconic 1980s films from illustrated symbols, with three lucky winners each taking home a pair of designer frames worth £150. Children, meanwhile, took part in a treasure hunt around Palace Gardens Shopping Centre, completing a word search using clues hidden among neighbouring stores.
The winners of the Adult 80s Film Quiz have been announced as:
Narinder Boparai
Nihan Sin
Ivana Vallorini
Meanwhile, dozens of children completed the treasure hunt and collected their goody bags, with the store reporting a brilliant turnout across the week.
‘We’ve loved seeing so many local families get involved with the competitions over the past week, and a huge congratulations to our three film quiz winners,’ Roshan says. ‘It’s been a brilliant way to say thank you to the community that has supported us for three decades.’
The celebrations follow a £250,000 refurbishment completed earlier this year, which saw the store upgrade its clinical and retail environment with new LED lighting, illuminated frame displays and a purpose-built field test room.
