MEET ‘MRS CHRISTMAS’ – THE MUM WHO’S HELPED FAMILIES SAVE OVER £60,000 FOR XMAS THIS YEAR

A mum-of-four has been dubbed ‘Mrs Christmas’ after helping families save a staggering £61,000 ahead of this year’s festivities.

Xmas-mad Clair Brading, 38, started saving all the way back in January and put her festive decorations up as soon as Halloween ended.

Clair is such a savvy saver that she not only squirrels cash away for her own family – she’s also taken on the responsibility of helping friends and family.

This year, the mum from Southampton has helped over 100 people save a whopping £61,000 with Park Christmas Savings, with every penny going on Christmas presents, decorations and food.

“Christmas is the most important time of the year for me and my family,” said Clair. “We absolutely love it and plan for our festive celebrations all year long.

“That’s why I love getting ahead with saving nice and early, so that I know everything is taken care of financially and we can enjoy ourselves during the most magical time of the year.”

Clair has achieved this incredible financial feat as a Park Christmas Savings’ Agent.

The families she helps are all putting money aside with the Christmas savings club. Clair encourages them to set realistic savings targets and supports them through the year.

Whether they need to increase or reduce their payments and targets because of changes in their personal circumstances, Clair is there to support, advise and ultimately ensure all her customers hit their goals and enjoy the Christmas they deserve.

She added: “Being able to help other families save the way we do with Park is a bonus, I love it, Although, I can’t quite believe that we’ve managed to save over £60,000 together!”

Xmas-obsessed Clair said her favourite festive tune is Elvis Presley’s iconic rendition of ‘Lonely This Christmas’, while her favourite movie to watch while tucking into her Christmas turkey is Die Hard.

But her favourite thing about the season is spending time with her four children, who she puts up the decorations with on November 1 without fail each year.

She said: “I like to get at least six weeks out of Christmas!”

Christmas is a busy time for everyone, but especially Clair. Her son’s birthday is on December 22, followed by her brother’s on Christmas Day, her husband’s on Boxing Day and her dad’s on New Year’s Day.

She said: “With all those birthdays around December Park isn’t just for Christmas for me, it’s for all the celebrations that go on around it!”

Clair’s drive to help people save comes from personal experience after she found herself struggling one Christmas with a newborn baby.

“I had my first son when I was 25, and that year I really struggled because I didn’t save,” she said. “I got in debt and spent all year paying it off.

“I signed up to Park Christmas Savings to help me plan for the festive season and I and I haven’t stopped since – it’s been 12 years!

“Without Park, some of my friends would get loans, get into debt, and ultimately struggle.

“I know that by doing my bit and helping others to save as well as myself, we’re working together to create a fun and festive stress-free Christmas.”
