On Wednesday, 18th June, from 6 pm to 11 pm, Mercato Metropolitano Elephant & Castle will celebrate Pride Month with a vibrant LGBTQ+ Night Market, in collaboration with The Big Market.
Pride is at the heart of The Big Market’s community. Having spent the last four years championing independent businesses and creating inclusive spaces, the organisation is proud that most of its team identifies as queer/LGBTQ+, making this special Pride event a celebration of the community they support all year round.
Market-goers will have the opportunity to discover and support over 25 independent entrepreneurs, makers and creatives from across London. Stalls will showcase everything from handcrafted ceramics by Svc Eramics and self-love inspired soy candles from Seka Candles to whimsical tableware from Four Tune Studios. Visitors can also browse products from Swiss Salad Sauce, a family-run business championing simplicity through flavour, alongside artwork, jewellery, and original designs from some of the capital’s most exciting emerging artisans.
As one of London’s most dynamic cultural and culinary destinations, Mercato Metropolitano provides the perfect backdrop for an evening dedicated to queer culture, creativity, connection and community. In addition to browsing the market, visitors can take part in free creative workshops, enjoy a complimentary arts-and-crafts area, and soak up the welcoming atmosphere that has made The Big Market a beloved hub for London’s creative community.
While at it, visitors can also sink their teeth into Mercato Metropolitano’s diverse selection of international street food from more than 40 traders, catch live DJ sets throughout the evening, and challenge friends to a game of Crazy Boules, the venue’s retro crazy golf-inspired course.
