Mind Your Brain: the new year wellbeing series returns to King’s Cross
Back by popular demand, King’s Cross has announced the return of its winter wellbeing campaign, Mind Your Brain, which it debuted to much acclaim in January 2024.
Marked by the launch of the celebrated Slomo Sauna @ King’s Cross, Mind Your Brain is designed to help people improve their mind and brain health, particularly after the busy and stressful Christmas period.
The extended six-week initiative will run from 17 January – 2 March 2025 with an unmissable programme curated by DJ and wellness practitioner, Rob da Bank and his wife, Josie, Slomo co-founder, designer and curator. This new addition for 2025 promises to keep brains and minds happy and healthy for longer.
Returning to Lewis Cubitt Square, Slomo Sauna @ King’s Cross will include two wood-fired saunas, three cold plunge pools and an ice tank that seats six people, all centred around a roaring fire.
The experience promises a soothing retreat from bustling city life in the pursuit of cleansing and relaxing the body and mind through this ancient Scandinavian practice. Visitors will have an hour to use the saunas and cold plunge pools, which can reduce inflammation in the brain, improve blood flow and enhance cell function, then have an exfoliating salt scrub and shower before leaving feeling stress-free and relaxed.
In 2024, the sauna sessions sold out in just 48 hours, so this year, the organisers are running a tiered ticket system to ensure everyone has a fair shot of grabbling a slot. Prices are £9 for off-peak sessions and £12 for peak and programmed sessions. The saunas will be closed on Tuesdays.
The programme
Programme highlights include warming hot yoga for those cold winter days; leaf whisking, body scrubs and the multi-sensory Aufguss ritual by experienced saunamasters; and silent sauna sessions for those who would like some much-needed quiet time.
Each Sunday, the week will close with a special Sunday Best sauna session. Sunday Best is the club and record label that Rob and Josie have run since the 1990s. Think regular sauna but accompanied by either a gong bath, a chillout playlist, an acoustic band, Aufguss, comedy or chanting around the fire!
An exciting addition to the programme will be announced in the New Year so stay tuned for details.

Rob and Josie da Bank, co-founders of Slomo, said: “We can’t wait to bring our Slomo pop-up back to King’s Cross for the second year. There is no better and healthier way to kick off the year than with a sauna and cold plunge, so by extending bookings for six weeks, we’ll be giving more people the chance to enjoy this fantastic event. We know that Londoners really want this contrast therapy to support their mental and physical health, so come and enjoy an hour of ‘me’ time this January – and watch out for invigorating treatments, special guests and collaborations too!”
