MISCUSI MAKES ITS MARK: ITALIAN PASTA SENSATION OPENS SECOND LONDON SITE IN UNDER 12 MONTHS
Italian pasta sensation, miscusi, has opened its second London restaurant in Upper Street, Islington – just seven months after the launch of its first site in the capital.
To celebrate, miscusi will be inviting Islington locals to try out the new site with 50% off the bill until the end of June.
miscusi made its mark on the infamous London dining scene in December 2021, launching its flagship Covent Garden restaurant, signifying the start of a global expansion for the brand. Despite having to navigate Covid-related restrictions around Christmas, the site has gone from strength to strength, becoming to a go-to pasta destination for families, couples, and solo diners across the capital.
This new Islington site promises more than pasta. With a beautiful 40 sq ft terrace and a stylish basement, kitted out with a karaoke machine and fun photo booth, the restaurant will bring Milan’s bustling good vibes and much-loved Mediterranean flavours to North East London.
Alberto Cartasegna, Founder and CEO of miscusi, says: “We’re extremely excited to have launched a second site in London this summer. Since December, we’ve had the pleasure of serving over 30,000 customers, bringing a proper taste of Milan to the UK. With the Islington branch, we want to create a space that embodies the good vibes and good times that comes from authentic Italian dining – after all, pasta is the ultimate good mood food!
“For us, pasta is happiness, an easy way of bringing people together over a simple bowl of food, whether you’re sharing a meal with family, friends or even co-workers. We can’t wait to welcome our North London neighbours into the family, and we’re bringing everything with us; our signature dishes, our Italian staff and even our karaoke machine! Islington’s Upper Street boasts some of the best places to eat in London, so it was the perfect place for our next adventure.”
Featuring some of miscusi’s most popular pasta plates, including the Pacchero Tricolore, a pistachio cream, authentic burrata and famous tomato sauce, as well as favourites from the new menu such as, Cacio, Pepe and Shrimp Tartare with Sicilian red Shrimps, the Islington restaurant encourages diners to really have fun and personalise their pasta dish. With an abundance of fresh, seasonal ingredients to choose from, customers will be able to express themselves through food, combining unique flavours to create their own signature dishes – dishes start from £9.50.
The launch of the second site reinforces the brand’s sustainable mission and status as the UK’s second B Corp restaurant. All dishes are low in carbon emissions,* and the M loyalty scheme rewards customers for choosing the four pasta plates that have the lowest carbon footprint.**
The Islington restaurant features a Barbican-style waffle ceiling, recycled from the 70s, that will create an on-trend industrial interior. It also includes a new pastificio feature in the front of the restaurant, where diners can watch fresh pasta being made by an authentic Dominioni machine (which can produce over 40kg of pasta per hour!)
The restaurant is situated close to Angel tube station and will have capacity to seat 141 diners across its outdoors, indoors and basement dining areas.
