MORE THAN 250 BENTLEY WORKERS BACK STRIKE ACTION

Bentley car workers in Crewe have overwhelmingly backed industrial action – after bosses were offered bonuses of over £14,000.

At the Crewe factory, workers were offered 3.5 per cent and a one-off non-consolidated payment.

Now 86 per cent of workers have backed strike action.

The employer has not come forward with any new offer to avert strike action.

Management at Bentley Motors also tried to force through a new Fit for Work policy – which would have impacted sick and disabled workers.

This was stopped through worker action.

Karen Lewis, GMB regional organiser, said:

“While bosses are receiving big bonuses, the workers who make the cars that deliver the company’s profits are offered a pittance.

“In the worst cost of living crisis for a generation this just isn’t good enough. They need to engage with GMB as a matter of urgency – not ignore workers’ concerns.

“We will always stand with working people who demand a fairer deal.”
