Mother Clucker opens its first bricks & mortar restaurant
If you are a fan of delicious deep fried chicken and have visited the renowned Mother Clucker food truck in the past, you will be excited to hear that following a nationwide expansion to 18 towns and cities, via Deliveroo late last year, this iconic brand, recently acquired by Famously Proper Ltd, the group that owns leading casual dining restaurant chain Byron Burgers, will be opening its first bricks & mortar restaurant in Islington, London, in late April 2022.
Mother Clucker has, thanks to its legendary fried chicken, gone from being a one-man food truck in London’s Truman Brewery to a nationwide brand creating employment for scores of people. Having initially focused on delivery kitchens for Mother Clucker in 2021, Famously Proper is confident that the restaurant industry is bouncing back from the pandemic, boosted by the easing of Plan B covid restrictions, and now is the time to push forward with investment in bricks and mortar openings.
CEO of Famously Proper Ltd, Gavin Cox, speaks about the expansion, “we are extremely excited to be taking this cult favourite, street food chicken brand from its origins of one food truck to new bricks and mortar sites (the first for the brand), alongside ourdelivery business across 18 sites nationwide via Deliveroo. We have very ambitious expansion plans for Mother Clucker and there’s no doubt that consumer demand is back. In late 2021, we undertook one of the biggest roll outs of a brand within 1 day and we look forward to keep up the pace, expanding rapidly in the coming months, as the hospitality industry recovers.”
