New Light Trail Spectacular for London This Christmas 2021 in the Grounds of Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath
London’s iconic Kenwood House, perched on the edge of Hampstead Heath, will this year play host to a brand-new landmark fixture in London’s festive calendar.
The grounds will be transformed into a spectacular winter haven, featuring immense Christmas illuminations and installations that will enchant visitors for an evening of jaw-dropping displays, food, drink and seasonal joy.
Taking place between 26 November 2021 – 9 January 2022, Christmas At Kenwood produced by Kilimanjaro Live, will see the stunning woodland paths around the listed Grade I building transformed into an immersive display of light, fire and sound, allowing visitors to step into a Winter Narnia like no other.
Showcasing an interwoven series of mesmerising installations, including a breath-taking light avenue, laser garden and a featuring a unique ethereal sculpture made by renowned artist Hannelora Johansson. The trail concludes with a dazzling display that features the iconic Kenwood House itself.
Nestled amongst the illuminations, the Christmas market with its stylish après ski ambience, provides the perfect backdrop for visitors to rest and relax. Open to the public from midday every day, the market will house a treasure trove of gifts and trinkets as well as two fully stocked bars serving festive favourite including mince pies, spiced cider, and mulled wine. From 4pm visitors to the trail will have exclusive access to browse and enjoy the atmosphere.
Visitors will see Kenwood as never before in the atmospheric trail designed by Manchester based lighting company dbnAudile, known for their exhibitions and art installations across the country and working in collaboration with Salford-based outdoor arts specialists Walk The Plank, who have worked on several UK Capitals of Culture and the Commonwealth Games.
Christmas at Kenwood follows the first ‘Christmas at…’ event at Wollaton Hall in Nottingham last year. The sold-out event saw rave reviews including the Nottingham Post ‘… it really does live up to its billing as a multi-sensory experience.’
