New social rented and affordable homes at Brent Cross Town
Related Argent and Barnet Council have announced the delivery of the next tranche of affordable homes at Brent Cross Town in partnership with SNG (Sovereign Network Group), supported by grant funding from the GLA.
Designed by dRMM Architects, the one-, two- and three-bedroom homes will be tenure blind, sitting alongside 226 Build-to-Rent (BtR) homes. Brent Cross Town is set to deliver 6,700 much-needed homes across a range of tenures, including affordable, market-sale, build-to-rent, co-living, student, and later-living, cultivating a multi-generational residential neighbourhood.
According to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, the first half of 2024 has seen the lowest number of construction starts registered by housing associations in the capital since 1990. These homes will provide a welcome boost to the delivery pipeline and show the importance of public-private partnerships in delivering much-needed housing.
Tom Copley, the Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development, said: “I’m delighted that 50 more new social homes are set to be delivered at Brent Cross Town, supported by grant funding from City Hall.
“This partnership between City Hall, Related Argent, Barnet Council and Sovereign Network Group embodies the Mayor’s mission to deliver more high-quality, genuinely affordable homes across the capital, helping to make London a better, fairer place for everyone.”
