NORTH WEST LONDON COMMUNITY CELEBRATES SUMMER WITH FAMILY FUN AND FESTIVITIES

Redrow’s Colindale Gardens was alive with music, laughter and community spirit last weekend as hundreds of residents and neighbours gathered for the development’s fifth annual Summer Fair.

Colindale Gardens inner park attendees came together on a bright and sunny day to celebrate summer. The event featured an energetic performance from local dance group Colindale Bachata and Salsa Fitness and lessons from dance instructor Mauricio Mauri Martinez. A children’s entertainer amazed audiences with magic tricks, games, and balloon animals and children also enjoyed face painting and arts and crafts tables, ensuring fun for the whole family. Colindale residents were also able to enjoy stalls from a range of local small businesses, including handmade crafts and an abundance of food offerings including crepes, pizzas Mexican food and ice cream.

The community event ran from 11:30am – 4:00pm and was organised by volunteers from the Colindale Gardens Social Committee who are already well into planning more events over the coming months. Formed in 2020, the Committee facilitates activities, events and clubs at the development, including a Family Club, Tree and Gardens Club and Board Games Club, to create a harmonious and thriving community. Each year the Social Committee also runs the Colindale Gardens Moon Festival and Diwali Festival.

Kamal Hersh, Chairman of the Colindale Gardens Social Committee, said: “It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces, and plenty of new ones, come together for our fifth annual Summer Fair. The atmosphere was full of joy and it’s events like these that really show the strength and spirit of our community.

“From the incredible performances and delicious food to the laughter of children enjoying the activities, the day was a true celebration of what makes Colindale Gardens such a special place to live. We’re so grateful to Redrow for their generous donation that made the day possible, and all the volunteers, performers, and local businesses who helped make the day a success.”

James Holmear, Sales Director at Barratt Redrow, said: “At Redrow, we know how important a tight-knit community is when choosing a place to live and we’re always looking to support local initiatives that bring people together. It was great to see everyone enjoying the day and we look forward to another of the Social Committee’s vibrant events very soon.”
