Notting Hill eatery Cha Cha to open on September 8th - London TV

Notting Hill eatery Cha Cha to open on September 8th

On September 8th, Cha Cha will open in Notting Hill, a restaurant and bar offering bold Latin American flavours and music to match, poised to become the local haunt for London’s sun-seekers, moonlight dancers and big dreamers.

The multi-story restaurant and roof terrace will be the project of tour-de-force founders French artist Max Tieff, Alexandre Santamaria (ex-Hakkasan) and Chef Anthony Garlando (ex-Zuma).

Following the success of its previous home in Maida Vale, Cha Cha is now putting down roots in an impressive, four-story corner building on Golborne Road, in partnership with London-based vintage-inspired clothing label Sister Jane who will be housed above the restaurant in a first-floor showroom and second-floor studio. Cha Cha and Sister Jane blend together effortlessly in this vast building, where guests are invited to meander through the myriad rooms, drink in hand, conversation in flow.

The menu, developed by Anthony Garlando (ex Zuma & Pierre Gagnaire) will feature Mediterranean cuisine with a Latino twist. Breakfasters can look forward to daily specials of cheese and truffle toasties, French toast with vanilla custard and rhubarb pistachio, and acai bowls topped with pumpkin, sunflower and chia seeds and coconut powder. From 11am until midnight, an all-day menu followed by a dinner menu will showcase moorish sharing plates of sea bass ceviche, tempura squid with wasabi mayo and lime, and oysters with green tomatillo and jalapeño mint gazpacho; bountiful salads such as grilled baby gem with maple butter, queso fresco and lemon brioche crumble, and showstopper mains hot from the robata grill including a half lobster tail, duck breast and octopus.

As London’s Indian summer unfolds, guests will inevitably flock upstairs to Notting Hill’s only rooftop bar with spectacular views across the rooftops, enjoying cocktails and bar snacks late into those ever-longer evenings. Discerning guests may even find their way downstairs via velvet-clad banisters to a secret garden of whimsical greenery and Italian carousel horses, looking out over the train tracks below.

The building’s interior design has been taken on by Sella Concepts. Known for their dynamism and creative flair (previous clients include Conran Shop, Instagram, and Alexa Chung), the team have successfully risen to the challenge of seamlessly aligning two distinct brands under one roof. The design will complement Cha Cha’s colourful and spirited DNA, weaving in a distinct 1970s warmth into a maximalist theme with highlights including an autumnal palette of burnt oranges, creams, and walnut timber, bespoke retro furniture, and hand-picked vintage pieces straight from the 1970s, including Gio Ponti chairs and Guzzini pendants.

Cha Cha’s Bohemian flair will be a welcome addition to W10, luring the free-spirited and playful souls of West London to its hedonistic brunches and moonlight DJ sets. A visit to Cha Cha is an experience to nourish all senses, and guests are invited to revel as much in the seductive sounds of Bossa Nova and the sumptuous textures of the soft furnishings as the dynamic flavours of the dishes themselves.
