One-Day Festival: Learning to Love from The School of Life
On the 16th March The School of Life are hosting a one-day festival of lectures, games and group discussion about learning to love at every stage where Alain de Botton (founder of The School of Life) and Raul Aparici (faculty lead) will be speaking.
As Valentine’s day approaches, many of us will be frantically searching for the perfect gift, card, or restaurant reservation with which to prove our love – and many others will lament that we have no one to prove it to. These struggles are symptomatic of a much more fundamental problem however; namely how our culture tells us so much about the importance of love, and yet so little about how we might go about finding it.
Over the past decade, The School of Life has been offering classes and workshops designed to help us cope with the many varied challenges of love: how to find it, judge its viability and make it last. For the first time, this One-Day Festival brings together the best of The School of Life’s teaching on love into a highly sociable, immersive experience. Through a combination of lectures, films, exercises, interactive games and group discussion, the day will give attendees a toolkit of strategies for navigating the course of love.
Learning to Love has been designed for absolutely everybody, whether in a relationship or not – anyone who’s ever found that that course of true love does not always run smooth. Led by expert members of their faculty, including a keynote address from their founder, Alain de Botton, it promises to be a fascinating and consoling exploration of one of the greatest challenges of life.
