One Degree Academy pupils celebrate success in national tests as results announced

Staff and pupils at One Degree Academy, in Enfield, are celebrating another year’s excellent performance in national examinations. The current Year 6 children have demonstrated their remarkable capabilities with a range of fantastic results.

Pupils aged between 10 and 11 are tested on their knowledge and ability in maths and English, taking tests at school in May, with the results published this month. The national average score is 61%, but Year 6 pupils at One Degree Academy achieved a remarkable combined score of 87% across reading, writing, and maths.

Notably, 50% of all students at the school also demonstrated a “greater depth” of understanding in maths, 33% in writing and 27% in reading, showcasing their ability to apply knowledge in more complex ways. This achievement reflects the academy’s dedication to academic excellence and the personal growth of its students and staff through ongoing teacher coaching.

Jo Addleton, Principal at One Degree Academy, said:

“These outstanding results are a testament to the hard work and dedication of our students. We aim for our academic achievements to be amongst the best in the country to ensure our students have a life of choice and opportunity. At ODA, we invest in the personal development of all our adults to support every child to perform at their best.”
