Online Card Company to Donate £110,000 to NHS Charities Together this Mother’s Day
thortful, the UK’s first ever marketplace for independent card designers, is giving back this Mother’s Day by celebrating ‘The Mother of the Nation’, the NHS. The online card company is donating 5p per Mother’s Day card sale and £5 of every Tulip Rainbow bouquet sold to NHS Charities Together (NHSCT), a charity which provides funds and support to the NHS and its frontline workers and volunteers every day.
The thoughtful card brand has so far raised almost £17,000 towards the £110,000 target to show its support for those who have worked tirelessly to provide essential care for the UK during these extraordinary times. Not only is thortful home to hundreds of talented designers and illustrators who are supporting this campaign, but also NHS frontline workers themselves have created Mother’s Day cards to raise money for NHSCT which include the below designs by JoshDaniel and Sallyelizabeth_designs.
Andrew Pearce, Founder of thortful comments:
“We want the NHS workers and the NHS mums out there to know that we’ve got their backs. We want to thank them for staying away from their own friends and family, and working day and night to care for the sickest members of our community. The NHS, similar to mums, are there from birth until death and everything in between, picking up the pieces and comforting us as the nation’s ‘sticking plaster’. By making this donation, we hope to show every NHS worker how much we care, and how grateful we are for all that they do.”
NHSCT is made up of 241 charity members based within hospitals, mental health trusts, ambulance trusts, and community health trusts across the UK. The funds raised by NHSCT enable the health service to go above and beyond what would otherwise be possible, improving services for patients and helping NHS staff and volunteers so that they can continue with their vital work.
Ellie Orton, Chief Executive of NHSCT says thank you:
“We’re so grateful to thortful, and all the card creators, for choosing to support NHS Charities Together in this way. Funds generated through this campaign mean we can continue to provide practical and emotional help to NHS patients, staff and volunteers who are working in extremely difficult circumstances and are responsible for making life-saving decisions every day.”
thortful knows that Mother’s Day is a time when people want to give thanks to their mothers, stepmums, grandmas, and mums to be, and this year it is easier than ever to show that special person you love her with a unique card, a beautiful bouquet of flowers, and helping to make the world a better place at the same time.
Andrew Pearce, Founder of thortful adds:
“We have supported lots of incredible charities over the years, but there was really only one choice for Mother’s Day this year and it’s our way of saying a small thank you to our heroic NHS. Our target is to reach £110,000 for NHSCT, but we really hope to raise much more for this remarkable charity.”
