Opera beneath Cutty Sark’s hull

The Monteverdi Choir and English Baroque Soloists bring Purcell’s opera Dido & Aeneas to life in a striking new immersive staging beneath the gleaming copper hull of Cutty Sark.

Directed by Andrew Staples and conducted by Jonathan Sells, this atmospheric one-hour production sets Purcell’s tragic love story within the dramatic drydock of the world-famous tea clipper.

Audiences sit beneath the suspended ship as music, movement and music transform the space into an unforgettable setting for Dido’s tale of love and loss.

The strong cast features outstanding young internationally acclaimed soloists Karima El Demerdasch (Dido), Hubert Zapiór (Aeneas), Johanna Wallroth (Belinda) and Bethany Horak-Hallett (Sorceress).

Tickets include early entry to explore the ship.
