Over the Influence plays matchmaker in return for £5 donation to NHS
Over the Influence, London’s newest sober curious community, which helps Londoners to socialise without getting wasted, is joining single and ready to mingle people on lockdown (not quite in holy matrimony… yet) by organising virtual dates, in return for a £5 donation to the NHS.
All would be daters need to do is DM Sarah & Seth, the not-completely-sober but making-better-decision bezzies and founders of the Over the Influence community, on Instagram, or drop them an email. If they find a banging match made in non boozy heaven, they’ll set you up on one of the following virtual dates: Pub Quiz, Coffee Date, Cook-along Recipe, Takeaway (transfer them a tenner and choose a surprise for your date – they’ll do the rest), Truth or Date, Q&A, or Music Night.
According to recent research from Alcohol Change UK, 1 in 5 people have admitted to drinking more during lockdown, something Sarah & Seth feel is worrying. Sarah said “The UK has a huge drinking culture, which is heavily ingrained in our society and has been for 100s of years. We have been moving to promote getting ‘less wasted’ for a while and have a mission to supercharge human potential. We have both seen the negative effects that substances have had on people close to us and worry that during lockdown this could only get worse.
“But drinking too much isn’t the only issue that lockdown brings. We also want to help combat loneliness by personally matchmaking people together on fun dates with a lorra lorra love and laughter.”
Sarah & Seth won’t be there to raise a siren if daters don’t stick to the signature Over the Influence 2 drink concept, but they’re encouraging people to try, and join the ‘not wasted crew’ in the process.
