OXBO Bankside to Host ‘Social Friday’ Charity Event to Raise Money for Hospitality Action
On Friday 5 July, 12-2pm, OXBO Bankside will be hosting a special ‘Social Friday’ fundraising lunch in order to raise money for Hospitality Action.
Hospitality Action is a charitable organisation that provides vital assistance to all who work, or have worked, within the UK hospitality industry and find themselves in crisis. Their aim is to support people suffering from life altering illnesses, experiencing poverty or bereavement – along with other life affecting circumstances.
The restaurant, OXBO Bankside, is housed within Hilton London Bankside – the design-led hotel located just a stone’s throw away from Tate Modern and the famous Globe Theatre. Social Friday is geared towards members of the local neighbourhood and surrounding areas, with an aim of bolstering the hotel’s efforts to support members of the hospitality industry – of all backgrounds.
The charity lunch will be curated by new head chef, Ollie Couillaud, who was appointed in February this year. Chef Ollie puts a huge emphasis on flavour when designing his plates and is a bastion of simple and quality cooking, this is very much reflected in his first curated menu at OXBO Bankside. As a culinarian, he constantly strives to improve his dishes and create innovative taste combinations that diners are set to love.
Attendees will be greeted with a drink upon arrival, followed by unlimited starters. Then each guest will have their pick of a trio of mains, finished off with an unlimited buffet of hand-crafted desserts. The Social Friday event will also be enhanced with live music, creating the ultimate ambience for a fun day out. Tickets for this event are priced at £25 per person, with all proceeds going to Hospitality Action’s essential grants, schemes and educational seminars.
Special guest appearances will come in the form of two members of the London Lions basketball team, Joe Ikhinmwin and Andre Lockhart, who will join Chef Ollie in the kitchen and assist in the lunch preparations. Plus, there’ll be a raffle taking place with exceptional prizes for guests to get their hands on.
Diners will delight at the sight of the brand new a la carte spring menu options available at OXBO Bankside, which will be served throughout the summer months. The new menu features fresh and seasonal ingredients, which best enjoyed in the warmer months, and take their inspiration from international culinary dishes such as sumptuous bao buns, papaya & avocado ceviche and pork belly with Korean kimchee.
